Monday Mural

January 2017 - Las Vegas NV

Some murals found in the Fremont area of Las Vegas.

Found some information on these murals.

FEAR NO FATE by Tristan Eaton for the 2016 Life Is Beautiful festival.
Located on the side of El Cortez Hotel / Casino parking deck.

More info here.

Tristan Eaton “Fear no Fate” mural inspired by Las Vegas glamour history revives our memory on a large wall through the eyes of a show girl coming straight from a 50’s cabaret. Reminiscing on the countless heartbreaks, adventures, sins and celebrations the city and his actors have survived. The style is versatile, the execution just perfect.

"Robot Portrait" - Pixel Pancho

Italian artist Pixel Pancho is known for his sculptures and large murals, often done in earth tones and featuring vintage robot characters as his subjects. Near the entrance to the festival, on the side of the El Cortez parking garage, one of those robots is posed in a loving portrait with a woman wearing a flower crown. At first glance his companion looks human, but closer examination reveals gears behind a missing piece of her face. The piece took Pancho just two days to complete.

I have spend way too much time tracking down information on this mural. Hopefully I'll find something and provide an update.

  1. Pixel Pancho did a mural in Rochester a few years ago.

  2. Boy, you found a treasure trove of murals in Vegas. Who knew? I laughed at the robot's selfie with the hippie girl. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
